Global singing star Katy Perry will be coming back to India to headline the inaugural edition of a music festival in her first-ever performance in Mumbai on November 16 this year. The Roar hit maker, who had earlier performed at the opening night of a cricket league in Chennai back in 2012, posted a picture of herself with Sachin Tendulkar on social media to express her joy over meeting the cricket legend during her time in Chennai. She had shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Bollywood like Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Amitabh Bachchan, who had hosted the show.
Although rumours of her coming to Mumbai for her debut performance and headlining the music festival have been doing the rounds for months now, the multiplatinum singer confirmed the news through her social media accounts just yesterday. She wrote, “I am so happy to be returning to India and excited to headline my first-ever performance in Mumbai. I am looking forward to seeing and singing with all of my Indian KatyCats at the music festival.”
Meanwhile, there is also a strong buzz that singersongwriter Dua Lipa will be joining Perry, but no confirmation has come from the organisers as well as the pop star’s side yet.
